Dependence on resources and cooperation networks of the National Olympic Academies

This study seeks to identify the strategic and operational factors necessary for effective operation of International Olympic Academy (IOA), National Academies (NOAs). It applies Resource Dependence Theory (RDP) Inter-organizational Relationships (IOR) institutional environment NOAs. A set exploratory semi-structured interviews were conducted with key stakeholders from Committee (IOC), IOA, NOAs Academics. thematic analysis interview data provided themes be incorporated into a questionnaire NOA directors NOC officials focusing on relationships other organisations implications their autonomy. The nature field activity its environment, is such that, many NOAs, it beset by an imbalance power. reflected in resource dependency on, particular, NOCs ultimately IOC legitimacy, human, financial physical resources. paper highlights number ways which these might modified benefit all involved.
